About the role
Founding AI engineer at a consumer startup rethinking online dating, led by a founder with a landmark consumer-dating exit. You'd own the AI systems behind the core product — conversational intelligence, matchmaking insight, and the prompting/evaluation/serving infrastructure that keeps them reliable and improving.
What you'll do
- Design the prompts, structured outputs, and orchestration behind AI-driven product features
- Build evaluation infrastructure (Langfuse, TensorZero, Promptfoo-class tooling) and keep LLM judges aligned
- Run structured experiments across models, prompts, and configs for quality, cost, latency
- Build internal observability: dashboards, admin tools, debugging workflows
- Apply lightweight ML and ranking where it beats prompt-based approaches for match quality
- Own model serving: API and self-hosted inference, versioning, cost/latency optimization
- Fine-tune open models (SFT, DPO, RLHF) where it pays off
- Design vector-database memory architectures for personalization
